How to tell real help from a scam
Fake “tech support” callers go after older people more than anyone. So here is exactly how we work. If anyone using our name does otherwise, it is not us.
What we never do
- We never phone you out of the blue to say your computer has a problem
- We never put a warning on your screen that tells you to call a number
- We never ask to be paid with gift cards, a wire transfer or cryptocurrency
- We never connect to your computer unless you asked us to, and you can watch and end the session at any moment
- We never ask for your bank password or the code your bank texts you
What we always do
- Written prices, before any work starts
- The same person every time: Muhammad, our founder, here in Havertown
- A code word that you choose. When we call you, we say it first. If a caller does not know it, hang up
- A son, daughter or friend is welcome on any call, and can be the one we talk to if you prefer
- Plain words and patience. No question is too small
Two plans
Home computers used for personal, non-business things: PCs and Macs. $40 one-time setup per computer. Waived when we supply the computer.
Basic
Retired seniors and students: $32 per computer, per month
Your computer is watched, updated and protected in the background. Hands-on help is billed at your subscriber rate.
- Round-the-clock monitoring through a small agent on each computer, with alerts that come to us
- Managed antivirus, with updates and scans watched for you
- Managed detection and response (EDR) for threats that get past antivirus
- Web filtering that blocks harmful sites
- Windows, macOS and common app updates installed for you
- Disk space, drive health and memory watched, so a failing drive is caught early
- A weekly automatic tune-up that clears temporary files
- Secure remote access, so help can start right away or at a time you choose
- One in-depth malware scan each year, free
- Malware cleanup with the installed tools, labor included when it can be done remotely
- Priority over non-subscribers
- 20% off labor for anything the plan does not cover
- Quick questions under 10 minutes are free
- Lower prices on our other services, such as online backup
Basic + Remote Help
Retired seniors and students: $59 per computer, per month
Everything in Basic, plus the labor for any request we can handle remotely.
- Everything in Basic
- All labor for any request that can be handled remotely
- Plain how-to help for everyday computer tasks, and short advice calls
Not in the monthly price (billed at your subscriber rate, and we tell you the cost first)
- On-demand services that the plan does not list, remote or on-site
- Installing or upgrading software, and operating-system upgrades
- Email problems and email moves
- Hardware upgrades and repairs, including parts
- Adding a new computer, printer or other device
- Internet setup and troubleshooting
- Software licences
- Troubleshooting individual apps, such as Microsoft Office, iTunes or Quicken
Add-ons
Photos, letters and tax papers are worth protecting. A backup means a dead or stolen computer does not take them with it.
Rates, billing and hours
Hands-on help outside the plan
Remote requests over 10 minutes are billed with a half-hour minimum, then in quarter hours. On-site visits have a 1-hour minimum, then quarter hours.
Billing

- Nothing is charged until you have approved a written agreement
Response and hours
- Send a request any time, by phone or email. We answer by the next business day.
- Remote sessions are scheduled Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM Eastern.
- Same-day emergencies, later evenings and weekends are possible by arrangement, at 50% above your subscriber rate. We tell you the cost before we start. Planned maintenance is never surcharged.

- Remote help works anywhere in the United States.
- Home visits are possible from the Lehigh Valley through Philadelphia and down to Wilmington, Delaware.

Fair questions
I am not good with computers. Is this for me?
Yes. Most of the work happens quietly in the background: updates, protection and health checks. When you need help, you call or email, we connect while you watch, and we explain what we are doing in plain words.
Can I set this up for my mother or father?
Yes, and many families do. You can be the contact and the one who pays, and we help your parent directly. With their permission we tell you when something needs attention.
Who gets the lower price?
Retired seniors and students. Tell us when you ask about the plan. The lower price applies to the monthly plan and to the backup add-ons.
What is the difference between the two plans?
Basic looks after the computer itself: monitoring, updates, antivirus and web filtering. When you want hands-on help you pay your subscriber rate. Basic + Remote Help also covers the labor for anything we can do remotely, including everyday how-to questions.
Is there a contract?
The plan runs month to month. If you pay for a year up front, you get one month free.
Do you help with phones, tablets and printers?
The plan covers PCs and Macs. We do help with phones, tablets, printers and Wi-Fi as separate work at your subscriber rate, and we tell you the cost first.
Someone called and said they were from Microsoft. What should I do?
Hang up. Microsoft, Apple and your bank do not call to say your computer is infected. Do not let the caller connect to your computer and do not pay anything. If you already did, call your bank right away, then call us and we will help you check the computer.
